Herbert Jay Rosenfield, ACSW, LCSW, BCD, founded the Adolescent & Family Counseling Center, LLC, in 1980. He is a CT Licensed Clinical Social Worker (000187) and is a CT Certified School Social Worker (#: 32180). He earned a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from UMass/Amherst in 1967 and enjoyed serving as a Dormitory Resident Assistant and as the Treasurer of Lambda Chi Alpha. His MSW was awarded by Boston University School of Social Work in 1970, where Rosenfield focused on Social Groupwork. He was proud to serve as the President of the SSW Student Association and a few years later he used his organizational skills to revitalized the School of Social Work Alumni Association.
Within the AFCCenter practice, Rosenfield has been the ‘generalist’, working with clients from a full range of ages and presenting issues. Nonetheless, for more than 20 years, Rosenfield has focused a significant portion of his therapy on treatment of adult survivors of child sexual abuse. He is proud of the courage and significant progress in healing that these worthwhile women and men have achieved. Motivated by them, Herb is completing his first book ever, There IS Hope!: Successful Techniques for Clinicians and Encouragement for Child Sexual Abuse Survivors ©. He is also the President of Rosenfield Innovation, LLC, working on inventions and other creativity to improve our safety and the quality of life in the human environment.
